A signal building from 2011 that showed what is possible with modern wood construction.

The study tour to Norwegian Wood Cluster included an award-winning office building, new student housing and a look at a new apartment building in the city. There was a lot to be inspired by.

What does it take to move forward? At the end of August, 30 selected people from the construction industry in Norway and Sweden gathered for a "Reuse Workshop" at Mjøstårnet in Brumunddal. Building product manufacturers, building product chains, prefabricated house suppliers, construction consultants and recycling companies were invited to share their experiences of reuse in practice.

- If we are to meet the climate challenges, fossil fuel emissions must of course be reduced. The greatest effect will be achieved by utilizing more solar energy. The second most important thing we can do for the climate is to take care of more of the nature we have," said Professor Vigdis Vandvik, UiB, at the NWC owners' meeting.

The annual meeting of Norwegian Wood Cluster showed full support for the development of the cluster. In line with the election committee's unanimous recommendation, there were few changes to the board, with Jan Tore Meren now embarking on his third year as chairman.
