It is more important than ever to preserve existing buildings. Sweco has now embarked on a high-rise extension at Øvre Vollsgata 11 in Oslo. "It's not a big project, but it's unique and important for solving major challenges," says Magne Aanstad Bjertnæs, a specialist in timber structures at Sweco.

The start-up company Oppatt AS has been accepted as a member of the Norwegian Wood Cluster. That's why we've developed a flexible building system that uses residual and reusable materials. We now hope that our membership of the cluster will be useful," says Lars Thorsrud, CEO of Oppatt AS.

Jan Tore Meren will continue as chairman after the annual meeting of Norwegian Wood Cluster. Communications Director Magne Vikøren, Moelven Industrier ASA, will be the new deputy chairman, while Factory Director Glenn Andre Jensen, Bergene Holm AS, and CEO Kristian Hanssen, Forestia, will be new board members. Kristian Hanssen, Forestia, become new board members in the cluster.

In just a few days, Moelven Byggmodul will deliver the first modules to Ukraine. The result of a 2-year pilot project. At the owners' meeting of Norwegian Wood Cluster, CEO Frode Henning Killi shared his experiences of the process. "This is a meaningful job for both the company and the employees," said Killi.

The main objective of the Heartwood project has been to improve the skills of employees in the woodworking industry, with special emphasis on lifelong learning, digitalization and advanced manufacturing. On June 20, the project held its closing conference.
