To achieve a more circular wood products industry, we need increased reuse of wood and wood-based materials. A Norwegian standard series for reclaimed wood will contribute to this work. A standard method for evaluating reclaimed wood can streamline quality assurance and potentially reduce the cost of reused wood. The Norwegian standard series consists of three parts.
At the webinar, CEO Audun Øvrum, Treteknisk. Audun Øvrum, Treteknisk, will present the new standards for recycled wood. Treteknisk is an industry research institute for the wood industry in Norway, and is an independent research association.
The standardization work that forms the basis for the new standards has been developed as part of the Norwegian “SirkTRE” project, which is working to increase the reuse of wood and wood-based materials. “SirkTRE” (2022-2025) is a comprehensive project funded by Innovation Norway, the Research Council of Norway and SIVA. Norwegian Wood Cluster is one of more than 20 partners in the “SirkTRE” project.
