Anna Denell, Head of Sustainability at Vasakronan, shares how Vasakronan works with reuse to reduce risk and achieve cost benefits. The webinar is part of the webinar series "Can we turn reuse into business?" organized by the Interreg Sweden-Norway project Circular Bioeconomy Arena.
About the event
By reducing the dependency on virgin materials, Vasakronan takes into account future regulatory and resource-related risks. Vasakronan has a reuse bonus for contractors, making it financially attractive for them to choose reused materials over new ones. At the same time, contractors do not receive a premium for new materials, which means that new becomes a less attractive choice for the contractor.
During this webinar, Anna will show concrete examples from various building projects, such as Lumi in Uppsala, where Vasakronan, in addition to maintaining and developing an existing building from the 1970s, has chosen to invest in large-scale reuse.
