Webinar: Introduction to greenhouse gas calculations

Tuesday, December 3, 2024
In this webinar you will get an introduction to methods, models and simplified calculations for greenhouse gas calculations. Target group: contractors and builders.

About the event

In this webinar you will get an introduction to methods, models and simplified calculation methods for greenhouse gas emissions related to buildings. We will also show how the calculations and results can be used as a planning tool and a budget, if established early in the project together with a cost and investment budget. We will review some examples of the use of GHG calculations in large and small projects.

The webinar is free of charge.

Target group: Contractors, project managers, clients – small and medium-sized enterprises
Speakers: Eivind Selvig, Civitas and Marit Smidsrød, Norconsult. Both participate in the project “Climate-friendly buildings Innlandet” and have many years of experience with greenhouse gas calculations and environmental aspects in buildings.

Program:

Introduction

  • What are greenhouse gas calculations for buildings?
  • What does it include?
  • Why is it and will it become more important in the years to come?
  • Methods, models and simplified calculations
  • Life cycle assessments (LCA) in accordance with NS 3720
  • Calculation rules: TEK17, DFØ, BREEAM NOR, FutureBuilt
  • Software – calculation models – a small selection: Reducer, One Click LCA, LCAbuild,
  • Simplified calculations in e.g. Excel or similar

How to use greenhouse gas calculations in the planning of a project? How can early-stage GHG calculations affect the project’s carbon footprint?

  • Carbon budget, simplified calculations, planning tools, etc.
  • Comparison of solutions’ climate footprint – effect on the whole, etc.
  • Examples from completed projects
