Certification schemes for buildings

Thursday, April 18, 2024
Setting early and clear climate targets for construction projects is crucial to avoid redesign and increased costs. But what are the opportunities offered by the various certification schemes, and when does it pay to choose one scheme over another?

About the event

Here you get an introduction to certification schemes that are relevant to the construction industry; Nordic Swan Ecolabel, Eco-Lighthouse, Breeam, Futurebuilt, Norwegian Standard. What do the different schemes involve and where do they overlap? Examples of construction projects that have chosen different solutions to achieve their climate goals for materials and energy use.

We set aside time for questions and exchange of experiences.

Presented by Marit Smidsrød, environmental advisor and consultant, Norconsult.

Marit is a graduate engineer from the Department of Climate and Cold Technology, NTNU. She has been head of discipline and subject coordinator for energy and environment in several major projects that provide good interdisciplinary understanding. Her role as environmental manager at the Life Sciences Building and Campus Ås, where she worked with environmental management for Statsbygg for several years, will be highlighted. She has considerable experience from early phase design, detailed design and contract preparation, as well as extensive experience from the construction phase and follow-up of contracts.
