What do we mean by \u201cwooden buildings\u201d?<\/h4>\n

There is no single, clear definition of a wooden building, but when we use the term, we are referring to buildings that contain a large proportion of wood<\/strong>. This can take the form of wood in load-bearing structures (walls, floor joists, columns, roof structures) or in interior and exterior walls. <\/p>\n

Wood materials come in many forms:<\/p>\n

Pure wood materials: Logs<\/a>, paneling, moldings, beams<\/p>\n

Glued or screwed solid wood products: Solid wood<\/a> (cross-laminated or screwed) and glued laminated timber<\/a> (parallel elements)<\/p>\n

Building panels: Plywood (thin veneers glued together), particleboard and fiberboard (made from wood chips or shavings that have been compressed or glued together)<\/p>\n

Wood-fiber insulation: Loose-fill insulation<\/a> or board insulation<\/a><\/p>\n
